Water Cycle

This week we learned about the water cycle. I think it is so cool. We learned about it in 3rd grade but now we are upgrading what we learned in 3rd grade. That year we learned about condensation, precipitation and evaporation. Now we learned evaporation, condensation, precipitation, interception, infiltration, percolation, transpiration, runoff and storage.

Evaporation is when the sun heats the water up and it starts to go up into the air. Precipitation is rain, snow or hail. When you take a shower and the mist is on your mirror, that is condensation. Those are the 3 most important stages of the water cycle.

How long does 1 cycle take? Does global warming effect the water cycle? Is rain water clean?

Awesome post Mosie. I think with your bigger brain in 6th grade you have a better understanding of how intricate the water cycle can be and how it affects us. Global warming totally affects the water cycle – a good question. The ice caps are melting due to rising temperatures and more water is available now for flooding and severe weather including hurricanes.
